‘With the final act being one entire fight confrontation between them, I couldn’t let this be settled in several songs. So, this is featuring not only the longest song on the album, but also the longest song I’ve ever written. It’s meant to highlight the tensions flying as Noah comes to terms with who Tobias is. Why they are so evenly matched and to make sense of it all. The musical transitions and dynamic changes are there to settle the third act and resolve into who he really was. This song alone took a week to write, and a week to record, and is utterly relentless.’
lyrics
Let her go!
We’ve danced our final dance
The last serenade has been sung
This is your final chance
While we are both still young
While you still have the choice
Surrender now or be destroyed
I have no words to say
For your crimes, you will pay
We've made it to the final act
Now it’s time to finish our pact
Get prepared for the impending attack
Mr Darke, your world will turn to black
Your destiny is in your hands
Here I am, alone I stand
Your fate, will soon be decided
Your demise has already been ignited
Through these eyes, I see you for what you are
Through her cries, I hear your power fade
Above the skies, may god give me strength to
Sever our ties, and let this be your final prayer
Now now Noah let’s not be rash
I would hate for Lucy to receive a bash
Noah Noah, let’s not be hasty
The night is young, I guarantee
Now now Noah lets not be sudden
Despite the toxin, in her body flooding
Noah Noah, we have so much time
You’ll want to hear my preceding rhyme
No use running Noah
No chance to run from what you were
What has two minds, and yet one soul
Both beaten and broken, but together are whole
I’m done with your games, I’m done with your riddles
Im here to watch you burn in the flames
I’m here right now, I’m here for you
You will never hurt again, once we are through
What’s this I hear? But I thought my games were fun?
My eyes are full of tears, you will pay once we are done
Yet I must concede, our games we play are not as great
As the ones where daddy made mummy bleed, when he left her battered and in quite a state
What did you say? What did you say?
You heard what I said, you heard me loud and clear
As loud as the voices within your head, as clear as the demons beneath your bed
Mummy had no time for you, with fighting off daddy
You must feel awful living with the truth, with her blood on your hands Poor sweet dead Marie, poor sweet dead Marie
Is it what keeps you up my boy, is it what stops you from having any joy
The cries of the city you failed to protect, or the life of the love you were too young to object
Always running Noah, and you're always being chased,
You're always searching, for what cannot be replaced
You never stopped thinking of the day, you never kept the anger at bay, We aren’t so different you and I, its because of this, I shall never die
You don’t know my father, and you do not know me
We are not the same, and we don’t fight in the same vain!
If that's so then enlighten me please, its been eating me up like a venomous disease
Who drove the dagger with his strife, who then was it that ended his life?
My my, not such a shining knight are we, if only this city were lucky to see
Their dazzling hero or murderous fiend, more harmful than they could’ve ever dreamed
You can’t sway me, you can’t scare me,
I'm not so easy to feel frightened by thee
Oh child get a grip! It’s not the first time I’ve given you the slip!
Always falling short, and always so far
Despite all of your efforts, you’re never quite on par
Always led astray, it must make you feel sick
The one that got away, oh how romantic
I’ll make you a deal, if you will hear me out
It may help reveal, what you are about
Do the right thing, what a hero would do
Take away poor Lucy’s sting, save the girl and we may break through
Or you may fight me, and you may try to win
All until, I bash your pretty little skull in
Say Goodbye, to all that you hold dear
It's time to die, the bell tolls for all to hear
I won’t lie, the end is approaching to
Satisfy, my darkest dreams are brought to life
Wrong choice
How many times must I knock you down?
Before you get it into your head?
You can’t beat me and you never could, what lies have you been fed?
I am a part of you now, more than a memory, you let the darkness take over,
You are your own worst enemy
I tried to stop you. You are a monster
I tried to stop you. You are a monster
If I am a monster then what does that make you?
You beat criminals to a pulp almost every single night, let them die without a fight
They're more afraid of you, than they could ever be of me, how many must die to unearth your villainy
Go ahead kid, take your best shot,
The first ones free, let’s see what you’ve got
I’ve said it all along, too scared to hear my call
You’re afraid of being wrong, and how far you will fall
We are ice to fire, two sides of the same coin,
You may try to kill me, but you'll have no joy
No use running Noah, no chance to run from what you were
Both beaten and broken, yet together we are whole
As my hands slip around his throat, the face begins to distort
I see myself in his eyes and the lies I’d always thought
How can two minds share, the same hollow shell
How could I think I was in heaven, yet resided in hell
He starts to laugh as I drag him towards death
He only grins as he takes, his final breath
Finally! Yes finally! Now perhaps you’ll find
All that happiness you’ve hunted, all the peace you’ve been declined
Maybe now you’ll sleep peacefully tonight!
Take a step in to the dark, and away from the light
(Set me free!)
Perhaps you’re right
Perhaps you’re wrong
Maybe I’m not a shining knight
Only one way to find out!
Stepping back from the edge, I feel the light start to die
I see my twisted reflection and the darkness decry
I’ve became what I had been fighting all of this time
I hit the floor, as the bells ring out their terminal chime
Come on, let's go home...

Greetings earthlings! This page is dedicated to Epiphany, my progressive metal solo
project.
Over the course of my time playing guitar, I've felt the restrictions of playing in a band that naturally comes with their given style and sound. Through this project, I hoped to deliver my own varied style and performance with my creative control.
It's not a question of why, but a question of why not?...more
