‘Along with Never Trust The News, it’s possible this is one of the most ‘metal’ songs on the album. It was far more straight forward when it came to writing, as structurally and musically it shares far more similarities with a modern metal song. It’s also the only song to predominantly feature my screams on it. It was best suited for this part of the story with the aggressive connotations metal has. I’d had anxiety’s about including a track that features screams so predominantly on this album. Not that screams haven’t been heard before this point, but it’s not exactly the easiest to understand lyrically. Plus, being a musical, lyrics carry so much for the story to be fully understood.

However, for the purpose of the concept, it made sense to include it during the protagonist’s aggressive outburst’

lyrics

Panic! I feel the blood still stained on my hands!
Manic! Slipping away only grabbing at strands
So scared! What is wrong, what is happening to me?
So afraid! Is there no end to my anger spree!

Am I losing my mind? I can’t seem to see
There’s no forgiveness, no mercy for me

All along, I thought I had it all
Now watch me as I fall
Can’t seem to understand, what or who I am

Have I lost my sanity?
Or just chasing an endless dream?
Am I to be forsaken, forever damned?

For years I’ve tried to construct
My empire tall and strong
But now it seems only false and corrupt
And all along, I was wrong

The foundation starts to deconstruct
My insides turn to ash
The hypocrisy with pride I conduct
As my world, begins to crash

What have I done?
Are the fathers sins to be the sons?
What have I done?
Has the darkness clouded out the sun?

If it gets lighter before the dawn
Then why does the night linger
Even though the battles won
The war's not done

The war’s not done

You’re just a nameless fraud
A distorted false god
A king who’s lost his crown
The tide of misery will pull you down

Epiphany England, UK

Greetings earthlings! This page is dedicated to Epiphany, my progressive metal solo project.

Over the course of my time playing guitar, I've felt the restrictions of playing in a band that naturally comes with their given style and sound. Through this project, I hoped to deliver my own varied style and performance with my creative control.

It's not a question of why, but a question of why not?
